Realistically I don't know if I will have time to post again before we have left the beautiful place that is Cambridge, England. So if I write another goodbye post waxing nostalgic, you'll have to forgive me. This post is actually less of a farewell and more of a catch-up, since I've done an abominable job keeping the blog updated this summer.
To give you the pictorial timeline of how things have been recently:
July 13 (AM): Turned in Masters thesis. Woohoo!!!
July 13 (PM): Lauren arrives in Cambridge (coming from Spain)
July 14-15: Adventures in Cambridge - punting!
July 16: Adventures in London - afternoon tea, Hyde Park, Tower of London, and Buckingham Palace
July 17 (AM): Josh, Lauren, and I fly to Oslo
July 17 (PM): Moma and Papa A, Bekah, and Grandma arrive in Oslo and we drive for about 7 hours to our very out of the way cabin
July 18: Meeting long-lost relatives and exploring Urke - the town Grandma's grandfather grew up in
July 20: Drive back to Oslo and fly to Edinburgh
July 21: Explore Edinburgh - including Edinburgh Castle, the excellent Hop On-Hop Off bus tour, hiking to Arthur's Seat, and more!
July 22 (AM): Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens
July 22 (PM): Fly to Dublin and settle in with Julie, our marvelous hostess
July 23: Exploring Dublin with Grandma including Trinity College Dublin and Dublin Castle
July 24: Grandma flies home, more explorations in Dublin
July 25: Exploring Dublin, boys visit the Guinness factory, drive to the west coast
July 26: Exploring the west coast - visiting Kylemore Abbey and Galway
July 27: Hiking Croagh Patrick and visiting Irish beaches
July 28: Exploring the west coast and chilling out
July 29: Moma, Papa, Bekah, and Lauren sadly leave us to our own devices
July 30: Enjoying downtime
July 31: Horseback riding and chilling
Aug 1: Fly to London and coach to Cambridge
Aug 2: Regroup
Aug 3 onward: Working with the China UK Development Center exchange program
Aug 21: Flying home!
Flying home?!?!? How is that even possible?? Pray for us as we work toward making the transition back to the States. Love to you all, from Cambridge.
