To see your domain prevail
Here on our sod is our humblest wish;
Your grand design.
Without Your invasion, all would perish, yet
In Your arms, the orphan finds his Father,
Lonely hearts find haven in Your family,
Lepers find healing, are cleansed.
Beautiful, merciful Savior,
Everlastingly calling Your own;
Dying, You purchased the victory for
Our life, redemption, our home.
Not one of our own could have done it.
Even the greatest of champions, self-
Ordered, stern in his discipline -
No match for the High Priest within.
Early each day, before dawn, you
Arose, our heavenly King,
Retreating to be with Your Father,
To pray, meditate, listen, remain,
Humble before divine wisdom.
A son, You learned to obey,
Suffering brought You completion.
In obedience, You suffered disgrace
The insults of ignorant men.
Instead of foregoing God's wrath, calling
Seraphim down to avenge You,
Infinite mercy extended, though
Nothing was deserved, all was given, to know
Hear, see, feel every pain I would face.
Eternal grandeur was Yours for the keeping;
A heavenly throne, endless praise.
Vanquishing death would be painful
Even so, You did not abhor the
Natural state of servanthood, worn to win Adam's war.
